Assisted reality (also known as aR) is a technology that allows a user to see a display directly in his line of sight, hands-free. Unlike augmented reality (AR), aR doesn’t combine visuals from real and virtual worlds. Instead, it focuses on the real world and merely shows additional data on a display located at the borders of one’s field of vision.
Frequently, assisted reality is used in smart glasses which are designed to provide the wearer with useful information and remote video support. The glasses are operated hands-free, meaning that the wearer doesn’t need to stop work to use them.
