Benefits of smart glasses
Why use Lumnio with smart glasses?
Lumnio also works on Apple and Android tablets and smartphones. But you'll get the best results with smart glasses that make it easier for your technicians to work in the field.
Hands free at work
The smart glasses are voice-controlled - and even understand several global languages. This makes them much easier and safer to operate than a tablet when working with gloves or at heights.
Ambient noise cancellation
Thanks to advanced algorithms and a system of multiple microphones, the glasses suppress ambient noise of up to 100 dBA. Every command can be heard reliably and the technician can also be understood when communicating remotely. The recording of the intervention is equally clear and understandable.
Integrated camera and microphone
Thanks to smart glasses, an experienced technician can easily record the whole process, including both video and audio. Lumnio then converts the audio track into text and suggests breaking the recording down into individual workflow steps. New technicians thus gain know-how faster.
hints and tips
Which smart glasses to choose?
We divide smart glasses into 4 categories. Each uses a different technology: from virtual reality (VR) and assisted reality (aR) to augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR).
These technologies enrich the real world with digital objects and information, or immerse the user in a fully virtual reality.

Read articleFrequently asked questions
Are smart glasses suitable for harsh conditions?
Lumnio is compatible with industrial smart glasses that are highly durable. Some types of smart glasses can be attached to a safety helmet, and shockproof and waterproof versions are also available.
However, each environment has its own specific requirements to which the choice of equipment must be adapted. That's why we offer several types of smart glasses.Does Lumnio for smart glasses have different features from the version for mobile devices?
Lumnio offers the same features whether you use it on smart glasses, tablets or smartphones. You also create a single version of your content for all devices. However, the hardware you choose can affect the availability of individual features. For example, voice control will only be available on devices that support this functionality. Similarly, the 3D view for smart glasses will only be used on glasses with this functionality - others will only display available 2D content.
When is it better to use smart glasses instead of mobile devices?
You'll especially appreciate smart glasses if your technicians need to keep their hands free for work. But customers often use Lumnio on multiple types of devices - and rotate them as needed. For example, you'll use shared smart glasses on the production floor, or a tablet in the dispatch centre.
How do you license Lumnio for smart glasses?
Lumnio uses 2 types of licences. We assign a licence to a specific device (e.g. smart glasses) or a specific user (e.g. service technician) as desired by the customer. So it depends on which option you choose. If you choose a licence for specific smart glasses, any employee with a Lumnio account will be able to log in, even if they don't have their own licence. Or you can purchase a user licence for a specific technician, who will then be able to access Lumnio on any device (smart glasses, tablet or smartphone).
